Family Adventure Weekend
Overview
Family, Food, Bonfires, and Fun! Enjoy a weekend outdoors and let us do all the work so you can maximize your family time. On Saturday, we’ll explore the Wilderness Quest Camp trail system on a family-friendly nature hike, enjoy some frolicking in the creek, and end our day with a picnic, campfire, roasting marshmallows, and storytelling. Choose your adventure level and choose to pitch a tent under the stars or reserve a bunk bed for your family in the cabin. On Sunday morning, we’ll refuel with Wilderness Quest Camp’s famous pancakes, then learn survival skills to stay safe while playing outdoors. Accommodations, camping gear, and all meals are provided.
What to Expect
This weekend, expect lots of fun games, and time in nature for your family. Explore our different lodging options and decide what makes the most sense for your family. We’ll help you set-up a tent so you can sleep under the stars, and provide all the camping gear to keep your family cozy and comfortable at one of our group campsites. Or if you prefer, we also have themed bunk rooms (with 4 beds each), with access to all the indoor amenities like flush toilets and showers. All meals starting with lunch on Saturday, a cookout/picnic on Saturday night, through lunch on Sunday are provided.
Families can choose to overnight in a tent, hammock, or improvised survival shelter. Loaner gear such as tents, hammocks, and sleeping bags are available, so this is a great opportunity to try something new or test out your own sleep system.

Survival Essentials – Family Course
Overview
Any parent navigating parenthood will probably admit that the family unit can feel like a wilderness at times! While numerous parenting books attempt to help parents navigate this foreign land, many find that their children do not fit the simple molds found in such books. If you are looking for a unique way to bond with your children, and in turn strengthen your family, enroll your family today in this two day and one night camping experience. Over the course of your family wilderness adventure, you and your family will develop better camping skills through hands-on experiences. The seven priorities of survival will serve as the foundation upon which your adventure will rest, so you will explore positive mental attitude, wilderness first aid, shelter, fire craft, signaling, water, and food. Enroll today to begin to create a memory your children will keep close to their hearts.
What to Expect
Wilderness Quest Camp’s beautiful 100-acre campus offers an immersive wilderness experience with comforts readily available if needed. Beginning with a brisk uphill walk to our first hands-on lesson, classes cycle between covered outdoor camps so that families can learn and practice the seven priorities of survival in a variety of environments. Base camp is the Wilderness Quest Camp lodge, which has plenty of indoor and outdoor space for dining and resting. While you should be prepared to spend two days outdoors, Wilderness Quest Camp’s fully equipped classrooms are available if the weather turns extreme.
Families can choose to spend the night in tents, hammocks, or makeshift survival shelters. Loaner gear such as tents, hammocks, and sleeping bags are available, so this is a great opportunity to try something new or test out your own home sleeping system.

Camp
Overview Camp provides campers with five days of personal growth and leadership development and plenty of outdoor adventure challenges. Campers use the survival, communication, leadership, and safety skills they learn to plan outdoor adventures. In addition, campers will leave camp to enjoy starry night hikes, immerse themselves in kayaking and rafting on the Jackson River, bike on the Jackson River Trail, and practice their confidence while ziplining at Wilderness Discovery Camp! At camp, campers will grow into advocates for real, adventure-filled adventure activities.
What to Expect
The first day is spent planning, packing, and heading to a private camping area on the Jackson River. While in the Jackson River area, there will be opportunities to experience rafting, biking, and kayaking. On the fourth day, you will return for a much-needed shower and end the week with a sunset hike to experience ziplining.
Campers should plan to spend the majority of the day outdoors - rain or shine. We teach campers how to dress appropriately for the weather (see packing list for specifics), including how to stay safe while hiking, kayaking, rafting, biking, and ziplining. On site, we have parachute canopies set up on the site to provide protection from rain and sun.
All campers will camp together in tents and/or hammocks during our Jackson River adventure.
The adult to camper ratio is 3:10 or higher, depending on the number of people who sign up. Campers and adults move together between activities and during high altitude adventures. An adult will stay with you throughout the day and can be reached quickly at night. All staff members are trained in wilderness first aid or wilderness first responders.
